Matthieu M.,

Pianist, composer, and educator Matthieu has been teaching piano for over ten years. He holds two Master's degrees in Jazz Piano and Composition from the Bern University of the Arts (HKB), Switzerland.

Drawing on his extensive experience as an internationally active performer, he helps students develop their technical skills, musical ear, creativity, and artistic identity. Matthieu believes that musical growth comes through both a strong foundation and creative exploration, he tailors his teaching to each student's level, goals, and individual needs, fostering an atmosphere of openness, curiosity, and encouragement.

Alongside his teaching career, Matthieu is an internationally recognized pianist and composer active on the contemporary jazz scene. Known for his innovative compositions, he has performed and collaborated with some of today's leading jazz musicians, including artists Francisco Mela, Ralph Alessi, and Michaël Attias. In 2026, he was invited by the Swiss Jazz Orchestra as a guest composer and arranger, writing a new program of original arrangements for the ensemble. He also leads several ensembles, including his own trio, which has received multiple awards for its composition and performance, including the NOVA Jazz Composition Prize 2021, the ZKB Jazz Preis 2021, and the JazzBeet Competition 2021.
