Layne, an accomplished pianist, composer, and educator originally from Texas, now based in New York City, has earned recognition for his talents on the piano and in composition, winning awards such as the Saad Haddad Prize and the Vladimir Mendelssohn Competition. His dedication to education is profound, particularly in the realm of music teaching. Bruce completed his undergraduate degree at the Mannes College of Music in 2024, studying under the guidance of notable composers like Christopher Cerrone, Missy Mazzoli, David T. Little, and Timo Andres.
Layne has taught music classes for young children over 2 years. At Bee Loved Preschool, he transformed the preschool’s approach to music by introducing engaging activities that captivated young minds. His music classes were a blend of fun and learning, employing rhythmic games, singing, and simple instrument play to teach musical concepts while fostering creativity.
Layne teaches piano lessons as well as general music classes.
