Isabel is a soprano and a passionate and versatile voice teacher who brings her rich performance experience and deep love for music into every lesson. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Isabel began her musical journey singing with the renowned Coro de Niños de San Juan, an experience that instilled her passion for singing.

Isabel is a graduate from the Oberlin Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, and recently earned her Master’s Degree in Vocal Arts and Opera from the Thornton School of Music at USC. Isabel has performed a wide range of operatic and musical roles, including Serpetta in La finta giardiniera (Mozart) with Thornton Opera, Susanna and Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart), the Daughter in The Juniper Tree (Philip Glass), Comtesse in Cherubin (Massenet), Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly (Puccini), and more. She has participated in festivals across the globe, with companies such as the International Summer Opera of Morelia, Miami Music Festival, LAH-SOW Intensive Opera Workshops, the Opera of Puerto Rico and more.

As an educator, Isabel wants to help students of all ages and backgrounds explore their unique musical voices. She emphasizes building a supportive and inclusive environment where learning is engaging, encouraging, and fun. Isabel is comfortable teaching a variety of vocal styles including classical, musical theater, latin music, pop, and contemporary repertoire. She emphasizes not only vocal technique but also text interpretation, stage presence, and acting skills. She also adapts her teaching approach to meet each student’s goals and strengths.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Isabel is able to teach in both languages. Her strong communication skills, performance experience, and commitment to the growth of her students makes her a trusted mentor for aspiring singers. Whether it is preparing students for auditions, performances, or simply helping them develop their confidence and technique, Isabel fosters a love for music that extends beyond the studio.
