YiFan S., Piano
Pianist YiFan (Gabriella) was born in Qinhuangdao, China, where she began her music studies on piano at the age of 4. At age 15 she was accepted to the Central Music School (College) of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she studied with pianist Andrei Zhavoronkov. YiFan was awarded a full Baden-Württemberg Stipendium to the Musikhochschule Stuttgart, Germany in 2014, as an exchange student representing Manhattan School of Music.
YiFan has performed a wide range of solo and chamber music throughout countries such as Russia, Germany, Italy, China, and the United States. In Summer 2014, YiFan was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Trentino Music Festival, where she performed in city halls and concert halls in Trento, Italy.
YiFan have worked professionally as a music teacher for over 7 years. In her teaching experience, she taught students from all age groups in Russia, China, and the U.S. She’s also a finalist in secondary piano teaching fellow position at Mannes School of Music.
YiFan has always been passionate about music. As a music teacher, she works well with students of various temperaments and abilities. She always arranges a lesson designed to make music an enthusiastic discovery. She teaches music not only in regards to the score but also the theory, origins, and concepts of it. She wants each student feels valued and encouraged. YiFan speaks Chinese, English, Russian and some German.
Yifan received her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from Manhattan School of Music in May.2016, studying with Mr.Andre-Michel Schub and Dr.Donn-Alexandre Feder. In 2018, she received her Masters of Music degree at Mannes School of Music (The New School) under the tutelage of Dr.J.Y.Song.
Currently, YiFan resides and performs around NYC, where she pursues her goal of being a concert pianist, chamber musician, and teacher.
