Francesca F, Flute

 

Flutist Francesca F. has followed her music from Santa Monica, California, where she grew up, to New York City. With the goal of building community, she dedicates her life to performing and teaching. Starting early in her career, Francesca taught private flute lessons to students in Santa Monica. Here in New York, in addition to building a private flute studio, Francesca has taught flute lessons at The Washington Heights Community Conservatory of Fine Arts.

 

 

In 2015, she was a staff member at Greenwood Music Camp in Cummington, Massachusetts, where she gave flute lessons, and assisted the students in chamber music and orchestra rehearsals. Francesca is an active performer around the city, and a strong advocate for new music. She frequently collaborates with composers and is a member of the New York City based ensemble, Amalgama. Francesca was a resident fellow in the Contemporary Performance Institute (CPI) at Brandeis University. She has performed in a number of music festivals, including Cortona Sessions for New Music in Italy, Fresh Inc Festival at University of Wisconsin-Parkside, and Orford Academy of Music in Quebec. Francesca earned a Master of Music degree in Contemporary Performance from Manhattan School of Music where she was a student of Tara O’Connor, and a Bachelor of Music degree from The Boston Conservatory where she studied with Sarah Brady.
