ALDEN H., Saxophone

Alden H. is a saxophonist, composer, and educator living in Brooklyn, NY. She has been playing saxophone since she was eight years old, but her passion for music began even before that with singing and piano. In high school she fell in love with jazz and went on to pursue a degree in music management, with a concentration in jazz performance, from the prestigious Jackie McLean Institute at the Hartt School. After graduating she moved to city and has since lead bands at venues and festivals all over New England and New York, including a headlining show at the esteemed jazz club The Sidedoor. She plays regularly around the city as both a leader and sideman at various venues like Korzo (Konceptions Music Series) with Dezron Douglas, E.J. Strickland, and Ehud Asherie, WMC featuring the great Josh Evans, Tomi Jazz, Silvana, Cleopatra’s Needle, and Robert’s Restaurant in Columbus Circle with the incredible Karen Marie. Alden has experience teaching saxophone, flute, harmony/theory, and other woodwind instruments to students of all ages.
