GREG L., Saxophone
Greg L. is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music educator from Danbury, CT, currently based in NYC. Greg holds a degree in Jazz Studies from Western Connecticut State University, where he studied saxophone formally under the tutelages of Dan Goble, Jimmy Greene, and Andrew Beals. He also studied clarinet, flute, and piano in the studios of Christopher Cullen, Dave Noland, and Peter Tomlinson.
He has been the principal woodwind instructor at Fairfield School of Music in Fairfield, CT for the past two years, coaching students of all ages and levels of experience on saxophone, clarinet, flute, and piano, and has been teaching from his own private studio for over five years.
Greg has experience performing in a wide variety of musical settings and has appeared at venues across the US and Canada. Some of his performance platforms include The Greg LaPine Quartet, Progressive Rock/Jazz collective Mid Atlantic Title, and many other landscapes including chamber music, R&B, Reggae, Dancehall, Funk, Big Band Swing and many more.
